Hyderabad Regional Center

The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers with its head office at Kolkata and its 33 Regional Centers spread through out the country holds national and international seminars, workshops and meetings so that its members can learn, understand and interact among themselves.

Some of the goals of the Institute are, to promote the advancement of chemical engineering science and to maintain professional standards among its members. Further, it serves as authoritative body on matters concerning the teaching and profession of chemical engineering and also publishes journals. The institute conducts examinations grants, awards donations, scholarships and certificates to such persons as may be deemed fit.

The Hyderabad Regional Centre with its office at Lingapur-la-buide complex, Amrutha Estates, Himayatnagar has involved in may activities such as organizing seminars and lectures, conducting industrial tours etc. it has successfully conducted the 23rd and 39th Annual Indian Chemical Engineering congress in the years 1970 and 1986 respectively.

In the year 2002 during the period 19-22 December, 2002, the Hyderabad Regional Centre conducted CHEMCON -2002,55th Annual Indian Chemical Engineering congress under the stewardship of Dr. K. AnjiReddy (NOC Chairman). Dr.K.V.Raghavan (LOC Chairman) and Prof. S.Venkateshwar, organizing Secretary. This event was a trend setter in many ways and was a grand success, once again depicting the organizing capabilities of the Hyderabad Regional Centre.

In the year 2002 during the period 19-22 December, 2002, the Hyderabad Regional Centre conducted CHEMCON -2002,55th Annual Indian Chemical Engineering congress under the stewardship of Dr. K. AnjiReddy (NOC Chairman). Dr.K.V.Raghavan (LOC Chairman) and Prof. S.Venkateshwar, organizing Secretary. This event was a trend setter in many ways and was a grand success, once again depicting the organizing capabilities of the Hyderabad Regional Centre. Besides, the centre has organized many national seminars which include Cement, pulp & Paper, Fertilizers, Drugs & pharmaceuticals, safety in chemical industries, Alcohol sources and industries, problems & prospects of pollution control in chemical industries in AP Retrospect’s and prospects of Specialty Chemicals, and in September 2005 on ‘NUCLEAR MATERIALS and SEAMLESS PIPE PRODUCTS’ and in September 2007 we have organized National seminar on ‘PROFILE OF ZIRCONIUM INDUSTRY IN INDIA’ which is part of the ongoing Diamond Jubilee celebrations of IIChE.

Catch them young is a slogan which is apt for a professional body and the students who are going to be the pillars of our profession are inducted into the main arena through innovative schemes. All colleges are encouraged to start the student’s chapters. HRC has been conducting number of programs for the student’s Chapters affiliated to it and the prizes are given away under the Endowments scheme of Dr. B.V.Raju, Sri Allam Pandu, Prof.V. Gopala Krishnan and recently M.P.Chary endowment fund.
